Azerbaijani archeologists defined the date of foundation of the ancient settlement located in the Absheron Peninsula.

The National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan informs that on the basis of archaeological surveys and samples of architecture dated back to XIV-XVIII century it was found an ancient village called Kalazi in Absheron.

"On the basis of other historical facts it is possible to say that this settlement is dated back to IV millennium B.C. Economic heyday of the village fell on the share of XVI century. In XVII century during Caspian crusade of Peter the Great the Russian invaders landed from the sea in the region of villages Kalazi-Dubandi. In the 40-50s of the XX century the resident left the village and in the 50-60s the village turned into a training ground for the Soviet Army," the Academy informed.
