The archeological finds discovered at the area of New Jerusalem Monastery, the Moscow Region, include artifacts dating to the first millennium BC.

Moreover, the archeologists have found fragments of unique icons. The monastery founded in the 17th century is considered to be a most valuable monument of architecture. Today large-scale reconstruction works are underway inside of it.

Archeological diggings have been being performed here for the fourth month only, and the finds are already more than one thousand. At the three meter depth a conduit has been discovered. Besides, they have found an old water pipe and something like a medieval storm sewage system.
