The UNESCO World Heritage Centre, financed by the Spanish Funds in Trust, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of Costa Rica and the UNESCO Office in San Jose will organize an International Experts Meeting for the elaboration of a comparative analysis of the Archaeological site of the Delta of Diquis.

The Meeting will take place in several locations in Costa Rica, including San José, Zona Sur, Community of Bolas, Palmar Norte, Delta del Diquis and Sierpe. The Meeting programme includes visits to the principle archaeological sites in the area with Pre-colombian stone spheres.

María Elena Carballo Castegnaro, Minister of Culture and Youth of Costa Rica, Rocío Fernandez, Director of the National Museum of Costa Rica, Andrew Radolf, Director of the UNESCO Office in San José and Nuria Sanz, Chief of the Latin America and the Caribbean Unit of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre will be participating in the Meeting, as well as the following national and international experts:
