The Voice of Russia Moscow archaeologists digging on the site of an ancient Inuit whaling settlement on the Far Eastern Chukotka Peninsula have discovered numerous hunting and household items of bone, antler, wood and stone.  A 3-thousand-year-old walrus tusk with an engraving on it is described by their American colleagues as one of the most important archaeological finds of the past decade. Scientists say hunting whale, seal and walrus was the only way to survive in that unforgiving clime.
