The Voice of Russia

Russian archaeologists in Novosibirsk in Western Siberia have put on display some of their latest finds at Hun sites in northern Mongolia.

New archaeological finds in Mongolia

The items include four ornate felt carpets from a two-thousand-year-old burial mound. All four are in good condition thanks to a ten-meter clay cover that protected them during their time in the grave.

The Huns were a dreaded nomadic tribe which ruled a vast empire covering the entire steppe swathe from China to what is now Hungary.
