New findings provide old clues at Duffys Cut

Two skeletons with crushed skulls have been recovered since early July at the archaeological dig site known as Duffy's Cut. Researchers hope the remains hold clues to the true fate of 57 Irish immigrants who reportedly died during a cholera epidemic in 1832. History researchers continue to dig by an old railroad embankment searching for remains of up to 57 Irish born track workers who died during an 1832 cholera epidemic while building the road.

An afternoon's work in an ancient camp ends with some very nice artifacts. Many arrowheads are found on the ground, especially in South Texas.
