Construction crews unearth fossil treasure trove

Michael Stokes reconstructs the jaw of a saber-toothed cat at LSA Labs. More than 1,450 fossils were found at the El Casco Substation project in Riverside County. The fossils are from prehistoric life 1.5 million years agoA Riverside County site yields camels, llamas, horses and saber toothed cats, some well over 1 million years old.

Newly discovered Arctic graves could be tied to Franklin Expedition

The expedition was beleaguered by thick ice and Franklin died in June 1847 and most of the team died of starvation.
